Cornerback Montre Hartage committed to Northwestern during halftime of the Super Bowl to become the 20th and final member of the Wildcats' Class of 2015.

Super Sunday for Hartage ($)

How many d-backs do we need?

This is getting like wide receivers--we have a ton of them, only a few of whom can consistently catch a ball.

Don't we need the big heavies and another QB? Did we learn nothing from Ohio State this year?

Did we learn nothing from nothing from playing an injured TS all year?

No, and No.

From 24/7:

Northwestern had Hartage on the radar dating back to October and a spot opened up for Pat Fitzgerald and his staff to extend a scholarship this weekend.

"I finally got my opportunity," an excited Hartage said. "The academic standpoint, just the degree. Say I don't go to the NFL: I have something to fall back on.

"Who doesn't want to go to Northwestern, c'mon."

Hartage says he'll visit for the first time this month.

Shows how some kids think: he's a 2* (like McManis) yet still mentions the NFL...........................anyway, glad he will get his degree from NU. Smart move.

I would assume they thought this guy one of the better prospects they had available at this time.

How many d-backs do they need? Who knows? The secondary was considered relatively deep last season and they ended the year moving linebackers to safety.

Cornerbacks are typically your best athletes. Obviously they cannot play the line, but their athleticism enables them to move to S, WR, RB and even LB, depending on how they develop.

Hartage's offer list is not impressive, but his tape his. He's got good size (6', 180) and is very fluid. Shows a physical side that the Cats seek in their CBs. It is hard to judge his speed, but he has some explosion, which is evident in the return highlights.

Here is what one blogger wrote about Hartage:

Montre Hartage-Hartage is a true shutdown corner who always takes away the opponent best WR.He comes up on the run and tackle, doesn't give up and passes (short or deep) and just like goodwin he has great ball skills, and he knows how to make plays. This is an SEC type of cornerback that coaches are looking for, hartage could be an number 1 prospect at the corner position if he had more speed.-Mike Davis

It also seems like we are committed to making inroads in Georgia

I still have scars from our DB's being torched for the last decade or so, therefore I will not complain if we have a lot of good DB's
