Tonight, in a Friday night press release, Georgia Governor Brian Kemp:
    - extended the public health emergency to September 15
    - did *not* mandate masks
    - continued to forbid localities from instituting local mask rules
    - strongly encouraged masks
    - encouraged handwashing and social distancing
    - maintained the ban “on crowds of 50 or more where social distancing cannot be maintained”

Notably, there is no mask ban, even as Georgia slips into ”red” territory per the COVID Task Force and has reached our high with 50 deaths / day and climbing.

It also includes this wonderful excerpt, a total abdication of leadership.

“While government plays an important role in fighting this pandemic, the people of our great state will ultimately be the ones who defeat this virus. We continue to encourage fellow Georgians to wear a mask, practice social distancing, wash their hands regularly, and follow public health guidance. Together, we will flatten the curve and stop the spread of COVID-19 in Georgia.”

    Georgia is burning, friends.
