We really enjoyed watching a great game and cheering with thousands and thousands of loyal Wildcat Fans!!! We stayed at the Northwestern team hotel in downtown San Diego. It was a very nice. Utah's official hotel was right next door. So the schools arranged a pep rally with both schools bands and cheerleaders on Sunday. They gathered in an open space between the two hotels by the bay and performed. It was a lot of fun. We walked to the bowl parade the next day with a lot of Northwestern fans from all over the country. Almost every Utah lived in Utah. The light rail trolley made it easy to get to the game from the hotel ($3 round trip). It was about a 35 minute trip. The stadium is old but it was fine to watch a college football game. We had seats in plaza section about 40 yard line. They were the old baseball seats so all the seats with backs with cup holders. Food was bad! I bought two salted pretzels that were so hard we refused take them. But they sold beer! Watching a NU football game and enjoying a few beers. Who needs food! HINT: (NU officials) fans like drinking beer at football games. More may come to Evanston to watch games if you sold beer at the regular season games in the stadium. Maybe even students. Bathrooms were fine but old. The Little Italy section of town is super. Recommend "Civico 1845" for authentic Italian if you visit. I was proud to watch Northwestern play great 3rd quarter and win a great bowl game! GO Cats!
