Yes. He is VERY GOOD. I'm fairly certain he will get a scholarship. I can't believe he was a walk on.

He's a "preferred walk-on", which means he is guaranteed a spot on the 105 player roster. He must be with the team 2 years if they don't want his scholarship to count against the 25 maximum limit. Given that NU rarely signs that many freshmen to scholarships, I wouldn't be surprised if he earns one sooner than later. And its not like his old man didn't earn enough in his NFL days to pay tuition

You can never have too many good arms on the roster. If nothing else, you need practice arms to keep the top 2 QBs fresh. Next season, NU will likely be down to 3 scholarship QBs: MA, CT and the incoming freshman, Aidan Smith. Assuming Yates changes position, TJ would be the RS Freshman class QB. Ideally, you want 1 QB in every class. NU will not have a QB in the Senior class.
