Happiness is.....

Too bad Iowa doesn't get a return match against the Kitties in Iowa City. Hopefully, Hawks get to play N'Western again in B10 tourney. Stars aligned for N'Western tonight with Iowa playing and winning a very physical/emotional prior game vs. Purdue resulting in injuries to Jok, Bohannan, Pemsel, and Uhl, with the latter not even playing tonight.

Iowa is better than they looked tonight, but using injuries as an excuse is an insult to the great defense NU played and the quick decisions to break a variety of zones and presses.

I don't call injured players "excuses", but whatever floats your boat. Enjoy the win tonight, but it's a loooong season.
It's not that looooong. The season is well over halfway done now, and conference play is at the one third mark. We're not talking about the NBA and its 82 game schedule here.

Northwestern is having a good season and is on a roll right now. Iowa is very young and is still trying to find consistency. You'll be better next year, but so will we.

We've had two players injured ALL SEASON, and basically play only 8 deep. And, if you watch the Journey tonight, you will hear how it has been a tough couple of weeks for us dealing with injury/illness (BMac, who torched you tonight, could barely play on Thursday) to say nothing of having to deal with a campus tragedy this week. Fortunately, we didn't use that as an excuse not to take you to the woodshed tonight, though.

Cool story, bro.

Yeah bro, good luck trying to make us feel bad about our team after we just won by 35.

Would be perfectly happy to play you fine folks again in the BTT.

GO CATS!!

[Happiness is] watching the hog farmers melt down over on the Iowa board.

Happiness is winning a game by 35 points and being 4-2 in conference play for the first time in nearly 50 years. I'll take it.

Happiness is a 35-point beatdown sweetened by a bunch of excuses.

All the more impressive as a win given (as per NUSports)...

"Iowa entered the contest ranked second in the Big Ten with an average of 83.0 points per game, but the Wildcats held the Hawkeyes 29 points below their average."

Iowa is #113 currently in the RPI which is 13th in the Big Ten. Congrats on the beat down but you didn't beat 1976 Hoosiers.

You must not have been at the game, because this was a complete mismatch. If you beat us in the tourney, it will be your best win of the year because the team I saw tonight was putrid.
Yep, Iowa played very poorly last night as young teams will do on occasion. Iowa took a beat down in their first game on the road vs. Purdue, but yet a few weeks later the Hawks beat the Boilers in Iowa City. Too bad Iowa doesn't get a return match this year vs N' Western. As I said, it's a long season and anything can happen in competitive B10. For instance, one key injury per team (say, McIntosh) for your squad would change the dynamics. Happy MLK Day!

Thanks for stopping by to piss in our Cheerios after a fun victory for the Cats. Mighty classy of you.

I have never understood posters who would stop by a visitors board after a liquidation event like that other than to say "congrats and good luck." That is clearly not your message.

Take your butt hurt back to the loess hills and stay there until you can post like an adult.

Holding Jok to 4 points on 9 shots might actually be the most impressive, and most important, part of that game.

This. Hans perfectly illustrates the definition of a sore loser, with the emphasis on loser.
