Nobody else has and I suspect it's because we live in an age of a 30 second news cycle and have really limited ability to consolidate memories l...but I remember ( nota.bly my wife who remembers every mistake I ever made doesn't)

In May 2006, a video of drunken nu women's soccer players sitting around in they're undies allegedly being hazed went viral.

The response was to fire the team. Coaches, players, the whole shebang. The team was not reorganized for a long time (years).

I'm curious what is different this time.

My take is that all of this football stuff is probably nothing and NU is doing the politically correct half measure of firing it's beloved son to squelch the media frenzy.

As what was said before, it is about money. If you give up the football revenue, you will essentially be doing away with all the other sports as well. Football funds almost everything else.

I wonder if the unintended consequence of disbanding the women's soccer team was that players are scared to report hazing. They may want the hazing to stop but don't want coaches to be fired or worse for the team to be disbanded.

Also this explains why Fitz stuck his head in the sand - I don't know if he did or not, but I am speculating that he did.
