The 'Cats beat Rutgers and Minnesota head-to-head, so would they have the tiebreakers over them? Or is there more to it than that?

It would be nice to know, going into the Merry Land game, that the 'Cats have the double-bye in the bag. No pressure, they can go into the game and just play loose and have fun.

I might be missing something, but I think the only scenario where we don't end up in the top 4 is if we lose to MD and end up in a 3-way tie with OSU (lose to NEB) and Rutgers (beat IND). I think we'd come out on the bottom of that eventual tiebreaker.

Best bet is just to beat Maryland and lock down that fourth spot for good.

Edit - I'm not sure this is true actually. Maybe its actually a tie with OSU, NU, & Minnesota that puts us in 5th? Let's just beat the Terps so I don't have to think about this anymore.

As Chicago Josh says, the possibility of finishing tied with Ohio State is the one thing that puts a Top 4 in jeopardy.

But we'll be playing after the BTT. And not in the WNIT either. So that's cool. Would love to beat Maryland and make a 4-5 seed a realistic discussion.

It's a pretty sure thing. I think there is one unlikely scenario but we have just about all the tiebreakers.

To Hell with the B1G Tourney...

beat Da Tortugas and the 'Cats might be looking at a 3-4 seed in the Big Dance. Now THAT is something to shoot for. Terra-Maria comes to the Friendly Confines of WRA and hopefully the NU student body discovers that they have a media-recognized power b-ball team within their very midst and fills the Wild Side with rabidly loud, crazy supporters dressed to the hilt in Purple.

It should be a realistic discussion regardless of the outcome of the MD game, assuming we win at least one in the BTT. Sagarin has us 16th after last night. One guy at ESPN has us as an 8 seed (before last night), probably because our RPI is 35th, and that's all we have as a reference point.

I think the best case scenario for WBB would be a 6 seed in the NCAA tourney. Based on all projections, they aren't a top 4 seed (ie top 16 overall). A 6 seed means they don't face the 1 seed until the elite 8.
