He'll need 999 tests before we're certain what happened.

Well it was his choice, as the Governor from South Dakota is saying.

No wonder he got sick. He forgot his MAGA hat and his mask.

Don’t worry, The Donald tweeted out a link asking for prayers for Herman. Instead of not holding the event likely that led to his hospitalization.

bet he and his mask-less friends aren't smiling now. Ditto for Trump's son and his "girlfriend". Ah those high school-like rallies are fun, fun, fun!

News is now reporting that Herman Cain has passed. Donald Trump killed one of his biggest supporters by holding that Tulsa rally.

It's not celebrating to note that the guy who said, the day before he was hospitalized, "Masks will not be mandatory for the event, which will be attended by President Trump. PEOPLE ARE FED UP!", died from the thing that would have been prevented had he been wearing a mask.

I wouldn’t wish coronavirus on anyone. It is a truly horrible death. Look at the time elapsed since those earlier posts. He went through a long, hard losing fight. I feel for everyone who has gone through that.

You reveal yourself to be the partisan you really are in this @Hungry Jack . I protested the Tulsa rally in advance, said it would lead to killing people, and now it has led to the killing of somebody very prominent. But Trump doesn't care, he only cares about himself. That you see this as me "celebrating" a man's death and calling me a name like libtard and saying politics has made me dumber shows that you are classifying me with the same type of stereotype you frequently rail against on here.

The only thing positive I take away from this is it's is another thing that I've been right about. It means I'm smart enough to see the obvious. It doesn't make me any more happy than a weatherman who correctly predicts a hurricane that people ignore and perish in. It's not something to celebrate. But I didn't get it wrong.

Sorry, I don't find joy in people dying, regardless of who they are, what they believe, or whatever circumstance (unless it's Jeffrey Dahmer).

And the word that got censored begins with "f". "Libtard" does not got censored here.

You don't know that Herman Cain caught the virus at the Tulsa rally. He had a heavy travel schedule in June and he visited several cities. Saying that Trump killed Herman Cain is irresponsible.

I don't find joy in it either. I'm f%@#ng pissed off. The vast majority of the deaths from COVID were preventable if people would just do the right thing. Our economy just had its worst GDP drop in history and we still have 150,000 dead and counting No other country is suffering the way we are.

That's correct, but two weeks prior he was filmed at a large indoor rally with no masks, a place where we know people got infected. Chances are good. And either way, he was clearly a Trump cult follower and Trump is responsible for his death along with about 130,000 other Americans whose deaths were avoidable.

I’ll be following Trump’s twitter feed today.

Future former Georgia Senator Kelly Loeffler tweeted at 1030 eastern. Nothing from Trump yet.

"no other country is suffering the way we are" because #math haha - we are very far from the best but we also clearly aren't the worst, unless you are only assessing based on absolute numbers which, well, nevermind

Herman Cain is an adult, he made a decision to take calculated risks, he got sick and he died. Things happen in life. I'm sad he's gone but I don't think it's a cause for moral outrage.

The vast majority of the deaths from COVID were preventable... if we would have completely shut down the economy the first week of March and kept it shut down for 9 months until Q1 next year. I don't think that's a practical option, and in fact would have resulted in many more excess deaths than we have right now. It's not ideal, but it is what it is. Btw we crossed 100k deaths on May 22, before the country started opening up again really - that would be roughly 2/3 of the total that have happened to date (of course we aren't done with, but pace has slowed down a lot).

But the number of deaths that happened in the early stage in urban centers is far higher than what has happened over the last month or so with the staged reopenings in different phases across the different states. Let's hope the caseloads decline from here and the death rates stay low...

So if someone other than Trump were president, we would only have about 25,000 COVID deaths right now, 10,000 fewer than Italy, a country with less than a fifth of our population? Where did you pull that figure from?

I don't agree with you and I think that you're wrong.

No other industrialized nation. And I’m combining the economic plus Covid devastation. Show me another industrialized nation that is currently experiencing per capita death rates that we are 8 months into the pandemic.

If another person had been president, the pandemic early warning and response team wouldn’t have been disbanded and we might have had zero deaths because it might have been crushed. Regardless, we had a huge head start on other countries. We were doing NOTHING as Italy burned.

Korea’s death toll is 300. We had the exact same time as they did, and the Trump administration had a detailed playbook.

Nonsense. I very clearly remember the Big Ten Tournament cancelled, then all postseason tournaments cancelled, and all gatherings of people cancelled, and shelter-in-place orders (including my work), all happening while Italy was burning. Look at Italy's curve and when it was burning.

    https://www.worldometers.info/coronavirus/country/italy/

We did NOTHING? BS. And by that time, the seeds had been planted in the tri-state area; there were not going to be ZERO deaths.

Italy had their first lockdowns on February 21. That means they were burning long before then. Regardless, WE ARE STILL BURNING and almost nobody is locked down anymore. insanity.

Here is the data sorted by deaths per capita. Notice anything? Notice how we're the only ones STILL experiencing mass levels of death, except for Brazil? Stay low? We had nearly 1500 deaths reported yesterday.

A 9 month shutdown wouldn't have been necessary. That's nonsensical. It's only necessary to have testing, tracing, and shutdowns until you're ready to safely re-open. New York has shown the way. Much of the country didn't really shut down at all, and certainly very few places shut down as early as New York. Another reason I feel insane is that we can point to all these other countries that were successful and you all are out here trying to say it was inevitable.
