Please feel free to be honest here. Isn't it amazing how one play can change your entire perception of a game? What were you thinking right before that one play?

Was it any of the following?:

-All these missed free throws down the stretch are killing us!

-Are we going to lose another game by going turtle and not running an offense for the last 3 minutes other than the BMac desperation one handed floater? This is killing us!

-What's with all the sloppy passing lately? These turnovers are killing us.

-Why are we switching the guard/center high ball screen? We keep handing these guys a mismatch on every possession and it's killing us!

And as soon as the Pardon shot goes in... it all goes poof and disappears! Ain't sports grand?

I was thinking that we played an NCAA tournament--level game, win or lose. Marked improvement from Illinois.

Really? You weren't thinking about foul trouble in OT or anything? Just how awesome we are? I'll give you the benefit of the doubt as a gentleman. But if Vegas had a line on it, I'd bet against you. You are a Northwestern basketball fan after all. :)

Nope. wasn't thinking about anything else.

My son predicted before the game that NU would win 69-65. I told him if he guessed right I'd give him 20 bucks. So we were thinking, "last second three, and a foul on the play too" at least part of the time.

Northwestern passed the ball twice in the last two minutes: there was a bounce to Lumpkin to give NU the 65-63 lead, and then Tap's full-courter (and that was a mandatory pass, because you can't dribble into play). Otherwise, pound pound pound floater miss.

But I'm okay with it.

Our penultimate possession was infuriating. We didn't have the lead and Michigan was guaranteed another possession even if we ran out the entire clock, but we still just killed clock until the shot clock was down to 10 and then let BMac put up a desperation shot.

I can understand (but don't necessarily agree) killing clock if you are sitting on a lead, but the game was tied and Michigan was going to get the ball again. WHY WEREN'T WE RUNNING OUR OFFENSE??? In a tied game, we need to run our offense to maximize our chances of scoring on that possession. Killing the clock buys us nothing. I don't understand the thought process here! I was livid!

God, I didn't realize NU lost the game last night. You must live a very in-happy life.

You can't challenge the strategy just because if the final outcome? You sound like the Cubs fans who give joe Maddon a pass for his pitching changes in games 6 and 7

We're in the tournament!

Isn't it time we sing a little kumbaya and stop sniping at people just for what they say on message board? So the guy didn't like the 2nd to last series? We're all NU fans here. And things are going great. So why dump on each other?
