Data is going to win an Oscar tonight.

You can tell I don’t watch the bracket reveal lately. I was over on ESPN wondering when the heck they were going to start!

If Houston doesn’t get their star back, that bracket might play out well for Indiana

(I just made a Goonies / EEAAO joke , but I’m happy for the instant analysis thread too.)

Indiana got a good seed. Iowa got a good seed. PSU got screwed. TAMU was a 5 projection on matrix, and got the 7 seed.

Mizzou was a matrix 7, and got an 8; Creighton a matrix 7 and got a 6, I think.

All these NU Q1 wins will help.

Rutgers might be the first team out…
Rutgers, Providence, Ok State are nervous.

I had to watch the ESPN bracket reveal due to a streaming glitch and they showed a bunch of team watch party clips but not NU for the second ever tourney selection (?!) In our bracket they showed Zags and Grand Canyon watch parties?

Congrats to Quan and the rest of the cast and crew of EEAAO!

But Ke will always be Short Round to me (for some reason, never watched "The Goonies").

There's a great story Ke told being nervous about seeing Harrison Ford for the 1st time (since Temple of Doom) at a convention, wondering if Ford would shoo him away, thinking that he was a fan.

As Ke started walking towards him, Ford looked up and pointed at him and asked, "Are you Short Round?"

Ke replied (feeling like that kid again) zero "Yes, Indy."

And it just so happened that Ford was the one who presented the Best Picture Oscar and he and Ke had a moment on stage.

Congrats. But to me, it was a bit disappointing seeing Banshees get jack squat. I really, really enjoyed that flick.

Indiana continues to be the most overrated team in the league, and after all their fans' no-class online comments about NU and other B1G programs this season I'm departing from my tradition of rooting for all Big 10 teams in the tourney. I hope the Hoosiers bomb out big-time.

Me too. The main disappointment I had was Colin Farrell losing to Brendan Fraser. Farrell was brilliant.

Happy to hear there are other Banshees fans. My favorite movie of the year. Those of you with Netflix should watch RRR too. It is so outrageous and fun. Doesn't matter how ridiculous it is.

If I had to guess he came #3 behind also Butler. Like you, I was rooting for him. And my second would have been the dude from Aftersun.

The more I read your posts the more I think we have the same taste in more than just basketball teams. I think Frankie Corio from Aftersun was even better than Paul Mescal and deserved a nomination herself!

I agree... or maybe not... I don't know. It's the whole separation between acting or some other achievement and how much I like the movie itself.

I think of how hard it would be for me to swallow if Ana de Armas won. She was brilliant, but I found the movie like 3 hours of the song candle in the wind, awful and incredibly manipulative to one single point of view. Aftersun makes me wonder if I did not think the acting was great because I found the movie so, so good. Maybe? I don't know. That was some powerful stuff. Had not felt an ending like I felt that one in a long long time.

Also, Kerry Condon. She gave definitely the best performance of all the supporting actress nominees, but never got the buzz because not a bit name. Woild have liked tonsee her win.

Agree - every actor from the Breaking Bad universe deserves Oscar love - it's not like they got enough Emmy love.

Buzz is not created equal. Sometimes you get Netflix money behind a nomination. Sometimes it's connections lobbying.

Not that she was not excellent, she was... but enter Andrea Riseborough:
