I believe we'd accept a CBI invite

Assuming we get an invitation to the CBI and Dr. Phillips leaves the final decision to Collins, I believe we'll accept it. One simple reason: CCC stated publicly that it was a "realistic goal" for the team to play in the postseason this March. Here's an excerpt from the SI interview:

"This year we have to take another step forward. We have to play better in the non-conference, there's no question about it. That hurt us last year. I think a realistic goal for us this year is to try to be a postseason team. We were a couple wins shy of that this year, and I think that's a realistic goal for our team."
-- Chris Collins, SI Interview (06/26/2014)

Although I've never met him, I take Collins to be the sort of person that puts a lot of emphasis on setting and achieving concrete goals. Given the opportunity to complete a goal that he laid out for the team before the season, I can't see him passing it up. It adds credibility when he sets a loftier goal next season and perhaps even strengthens his recruiting pitch a bit. Plus, even with injuries, more court time and tournament experience is good for the players and fans alike.

The only reason to turn it down would be if you were told you could have the money to play in the tournament but then that money would not be used to pay for something else more important, whatever that would be. Otherwise, what on earth is the downside to additional game and practice time?
