I don't think he's a fit

I wonder if he's a fit anywhere in the B1G. If the reasons for Roduck's impending transfer was the risk of playing second fiddle to Beathard, what is the likelihood he could immediately secure a starting job on another B1G team for just one year?

If Oliver is the best, but not good enough, then you owe it to the rest of the team to bring in the best available player if we think that Rudock will be an upgrade. Since it's only a year, that would give Alviti and Thorson one more year to develop. Additionally, Alviti will probably still see time as the "running QB." I wonder also if Thorson would be a WR if he's the #3 QB.

Correct.

But no one has mentioned academics. Would he qualify at NU from that POV?

He graduated from a top 75 college in 4 years while not only playing a sport but Playing the most demanding position mentally in any sport. Steve Young has called law school a joke because the amount of memorization in a west coast offense is significantly higher than being a lawyer.

So without being sent his transcript, I'd guess he's ok

Rudock has excellent grades (4.0 GPA as a microbiology/premed major as of his junior year) and will be able to easily get into NU. He could have gotten into NU without football.
