Why is it that every time I log on, you're complaining about Clark Kellogg grabbing balls?
Well, I though we had a decent chance at Wisconsin, given that we had beaten them before and had played well in our first two BTT games. Did you expect us to lose by 28 points? I sure didn't see that coming.
In retrospect, the OP of the thread questioning whether we were better off losing didn't seem that far off. That game looked like an impending disaster in about five minutes.
A) After three straight games with Bill Raftery pretending to pay attention to something west of Pennsylvania, I'm surprised the first post about color commentary is about another analyst.
B) In general, I really hate CBS' choices for most of it's on air "talent" throughout the tournament. Nantz ... Grant Hill ... Raftery. Blah and dead with no insight.
Are Greg Anthony, Barkley and Kenny Smith going to be in the studio again? Horrible. And I somewhat like Barkley's big mouth. But he's just collecting a check when he does college games.
To me, all of them make Kellogg look good, but that's not saying a lot.
C) On the topic of the possibility NU would have been worn down by the B10 tournament, anybody watch IU-Georgia Tech last night?
Near the end, they killed some time with predictions of each B10 team in the NCAA tournament. The color analyst (a top-of-the-line guy because it is the NIT after all) predicted Michigan would lose in the first round because of the grind of winning the conference tournament. He said something along the lines of, "I've been through a tournament championship and most people don't know how much it takes out of you. It takes an exceptional team to turn around and make a long run."
I'm just sayin'.

The range of opinions about broadcasters always interests me. I think Kellogg is next to worthless - everything he says is obvious and he abuses food analogies beyond the point of sanity.
I don't like Turner using the TNT NBA crew on the NCAA tourney. But then Turner is in a bind because they don't cover college basketball outside of the tournament and thus don't have anyone on staff that can do the job.
As for the "A" team, I think Nantz has really raised his game since this broadcast crew was put together and he's no longer battling with Packer or Kellogg for space. Grant Hill is solid, and I love Raft and would listen to him read the phone book.
