If we are lucky enough to have a lead and play our second QB this season

Will Fitz give him the chance to run the offense, and not just hand the ball off on a dive play?

Would be nice to have a back-up with one or two pass attempts.

Since we are starting new with no incumbent, it is more likely we will see more than one guy than it was last year

I am in agreement with you on this. Fitz never piles points as other do, but I am in firm belief that when you go to your back up you should let them play, otherwise how will the learn. If your back up does well and adds more points, then go further down the chain to the next QB. I don't think you need to throw it 40 yds looking for a score, but there is entirely no reason not to throw and especially not just on 3rd down. That's something that I have never liked about Fitz. You have an obligation to help players grow and there isn't much growth just handing it off for dive plays.

Completely agree. bizarre that he doesn't take the opportunity to develop the back-up QB. I doubt there will be many games this season with this opportunity though.........

Fitz only sees this as running up the score, and/or he's willing to leave our backups underdeveloped out of fear that he'll look like a bully. It's very short-sighted to be honest. We have Zack Oliver's million handoffs over the past three years as evidence - the kid could have been slinging the ball around, getting legit game experience as a passer. Not saying that would have made him the starter this year, but we're left to ask "what if."

I would guess no but I would love to be proved wrong.
