EVANSTON-Defensive end Ifeadi Odenigbo doesn't think he has lived up to the expectations he faced as a four-star recruit entering Northwestern in 2012.

Something to prove (FREE)

Lou, I have always felt that the lack of size was the main thing holding Ifeadi back and sorry to see that his actual weight is still a point of contention. Also wish he would also put the sword act away, at least until he proves himself on the field.

I've never given it that much thought but I figured he'd be slow to develop simply due to his limited football experience prior to getting to NU. As I recall, didn't he only start playing as a sophomore in high school?

He shouldn't be that far behind if he played three years in high school. Corbin Bryant played only one year in HS and was playing as a true Freshman. I think the transition from LB to DE, the necessary weight gain to play DE, and learning how to play against the run is more of an obstacle than his supposed lack of experience.
