In retrospect, how much has the absence of true home court been a negative for the Wildcats?

Apart from the games themselves requiring an extra hour to and from the Rosemont location, how have practices been impacted? How often has the team had to add those two hours of travel time just to get to practice at Allstate Arena? Practices held elsewhere closer to campus would still not provide the true familiarity that one gets from practicing on their own home playing court.

Then too how has student and other fan participation been affected with regard to that "extra man" factor?

Would we have won a few more games by this point in the season but for the Commuting Cats?

No. The games they lost were games they would not have been favored in.
THe HOME games they lost, true. But what if part of the affect was in problems with road games? No real home to go back to? How about the NEB game? I consider that one to be the home BIG game effected the most by the change in venue. Also add the Creighton game. Otherwise not so much of an affect at home.

It's had an effect. Impossible to say how much. You expect friendly rims and a friendly environment for half your games. That hasn't been the case. Makes it all that much difficult to get dialed in.

The rims didn't seem unfriendly when they put up 88 on Creighton, or 96 on Chicago State, 95 on Brown or 84 on Valpo......

Watching MD shoot as if they were practicing and hitting nearly everything shows what home court can mean. NU has no home court.

Can't say how much it means, but a couple games is conservative. Then, who knows, we might not be only NIT hopefuls.

They've only lost 3 at home.

Which two of Creighton, Nebraska and Ohio State do you think they win if played at WRA? Definitely not Nebraska with BMac out with the bad knee.......

Inconsequential. Minor. Insignificant compared to other issues.

By the way, this denial of our traditional home court is also happening for the very happiest of reasons - the complete overhaul and transformation into the best facility any NU team has ever had.

By the way, during the 82-83 transformation of McGaw into W-R, the team that year enjoyed the best season for many years.
