…I would match this year’s football team up with anyone.

To struggle to the current losing record, while never ceasing to fight, is challenging.

Wherever these guys end up in life, so long as they retain that discipline and sense of duty, they will thrive.

I hope the Cats can go out with a win over Illinois, but even if they don’t, they should know that their character made the alumni and fans proud.

Now, let’s hope that the coaching leadership can demonstrate the same degree of responsibility.

Hear hear. This team has consistently fought their asses off despite continuously being at a coaching disadvantage. There is no lack of fight in this squad.

It would make me happy to see them beat Illannoy and go out on a high note.

One of the best posts of this miserable season. Thank you. I will be there Saturday cheering for our guys, along with a full complement of our tailgate crew.

I wanted to make this post for the last month. Any other coach university and team would’ve mailed it in a month ago this group has not. Huge message being sent

So the team is fighting, at least in part, to keep their coaches as I assume they are aware of the mood on this board?

I love sports, especially competitive sports. I’m so glad Little Hungry plays. So many important life lessons learned from playing and competing: how to work toward a goal; how to be a team member; how to lose with dignity; the value of commitment and hard work; how to suffer discomfort and pain and keep fighting; and so on.

I’ve met lots of players over the years. I tell anyone in hiring positions to look at NU athletes. They are some of the best prepared college grads you will find.

I mean... there's a ton of motivation to try to win games beyond just trying to avoid staff firings.

But it is a credit to Fitz that the team hasn't given up and is still practicing hard as far as he tells us.

I was fortunate enough to go to the Purdue game last weekend and noticed things live that you may not see on television. While watching the sidelines during the game, although it has been a miserable season in terms of wins and losses you can tell the players and coaches have not lost their camaraderie, enthusiasm and encouragement for one another. I’m extremely proud to be an NU fan.
