......Thorson.
Spoke with someone whose son trains with a QB coach who is also Thorson's personal QB coach, with whom he continues to work.
He asked if I went to NU, and proceeded to tell me his connection to Thorson, himself a former Wheaton College college quarterback and (I think maybe) neighbor to Thorson in Wheaton. I can't remember all the connections frankly, and could have this wrong.
The point is, I agreed that Thorson had done well at NU, and that I was pleased that we had him for two more years. He quickly retorted, "You've got him for one more year!" Apparently, not only is Thorson committed to going pro after this season, his QB coach is more than convinced we have a 2018 top 5 draft pick behind center this year. He went on to tell me that we are changing the offense this year to incorporate far more read option for Thorson to run, and that this will further demonstrate his speed to up his draft stock.
I'll admit being somewhat taken aback, not only by this 'news', but this person's confidence in that he knew the inner machinations of what was happening with Thorson and our offense. I don't recall any discussions on this board regarding Thorson leaving early, so wanted to throw this out and see if there were any people more in the know (GCG2003) who knew if this was already a direction Thorson was looking to take.
