As annoyed as I was with the IU meltdown in BTT, I'd kinda like to see these guys play again.

Are we even eligible under .500? Is it an option. I mean if we won a few games we could be over break even.....

Absolutely, it's an option; several "power conference" teams have played in the CBI with a record under .500. But the word seems to be that the 'Cats won't accept an invitation. The team ran out of gas at the end of the season and it sounds like they don't have the energy to continue.

Graf, you must've missed it, but CC made it clear it the postgame presser that they wouldn't be entertaining any thoughts of playing in the CBI. Moot point.

i found that odd

I was surprised cc didnt put the team in the cbi tourney and get one more home field game. I thought coaches praise these turneys for more experience. Imo collins was too proudful of going to the cbi. And i love cc but i was disappointed.

My .02: From my view, Mac is the only one who "hit a wall" as he has dead legs the past 2 weeks. In the past, the whole team was burned out due to too many minutes. Shurna Drew C. and Juice Thompson come to mind as guys who crashed and burned after logging 37,38 minutes a game. This is a testament to our improved bench play.
I believe we're hiding injuries, and/or CC doesn't want to risk blowing out a knee, etc. in a tournement that means little. Imagine losing Olah at this pont? You get the idea, but I also think there's health issues we don't know. I think CC is simply protecting the team from the unknown. Just a hunch.

Michigan, Minnesota, Penn State and Northwestern all declined the CBI. It's obviously not that attractive a proposition.

Penn State got into it last year and was just about the only P5 conference team in it. They were out after two half-hearted performances. They really didn't get anything out of it, and coach Chambers and the PSU staff decided not to bother with it this year. Personally, I don't think it's worth risking some guy tearing up his knee in what essentially is a losers' tournament. Basically even if you win this thing, so what?
