Is the board broken?

Maybe because someone called someone else’s posts “worthless”…that’s shameful and deserves to be reported.
You are probably referring to my post in reponse to IGNORE2 where I said:

"This is a red herring argument and not worth a response."

And it's true. He keeps trying to change the subject, i.e., create a red herring, rather than stay on topic.

In his next post he asks me: "What do you think of Joe Paterno?" Tell me what has that got to do with anything here.

So don't blame me. I'm just trying to stay on topic.

Uh wrong - Re-read the end of your 12:29-‘ post to me. It is highly inappropriate to call other opinions “worthless”.

They try to steer the narrative because they have things they simply cannot defend. I ask about JoePa, another college coach the ‘should have known or knew’ about a school scandal. An otherwise legendary coach of greater accomplishment than PF.

So the Enablers must divert. Analogizing is too damaging for them. Once again, when not in their favor, they revert to adolescent stubbornness- that is different - as though all things aren’t different in one way or another. But well educated people have been using similar things to learn from since the dawn of man.

Anyway - how about who is ultimately responsible for everything re NUFB? I have 5MM reasons for my answer. Or, if you say nobody, why then retain a guy that has been terrible 3 out of the last four years and become a giant snarky arse?

Joe claimed to have not known - though third party evidence claimed otherwise. He said / she said.

OK. Thanks for pointing that out.

I went back and reviewed the discussion. Here is what you said that prompted my remarks:

"I’m not saying Fitz’s punishment was justified, but I’m saying it’s very likely he knew what was going on even if it can’t be specifically proven..."

The problem I have with that statement is that it's a pretty strong indictment of Fitz with virtually no proof.

So my response was that this was just conjecture on your part and I find that kind of conjecture to be of little value to anyone. Particularly when it makes someone look bad without any proof whatsoever. That's just my opinion. Others may disagree.

But I certainly don't see how this kind of remark would result in the thread being locked. I have seen far more controversial remarks elsewhere that haven't resulted in that type of action.

He’s essentially a troll and on most boards would have been suspended or banned by now.

Enablers
analog Ozone
Adolescent stubbornness
we’ll (sic) educated people

I rarely agree with Bob, but he has a right to state his opinion about things even with his cute buzz words that are designed to incite but amuse me.

You do a great job catching my autocorrect errors. Working of fixing them.

Thanks for clarifying. Fair comments. I guess we do disagree on the severity of the word “worthless” when we are stating opinions, as I am (and I certainly think others are) struggling with how to think of Fitz. Again, I still agree he should not have been fired.

The other unfortunate side of this is that many of the players who have come forward have been accused / indicted on this board in a personal way that is much worse than my opinion about what Fitz knew.

I’m fine with those posts being removed/edited, but shutting down the responses doesn’t seem right. 🤷‍♂️
Really? Do people have so little ego strength that such innocuous comments warrant deletion.

I for one found the banter pretty clean, direct, and honestly expressive of the opinions of all.

I don’t know what was deleted; but I do know there is a line that shouldn’t be crossed. You’d have to check with the moderators on that.

"What a Sh** Show" is not only germane to NU Football, but also to our responsibility as fans to seek transparency about what has occurred. If we cannot be transparent in our own feelings, opinions and facts, what right do we have to expect the Administration, the Team, and the BOT to be? My prediction was that the Football Board would become the new Rant Board, and who could have predicted these recent events that actually suggest that be the case? Ease up, Mods, please, until the "Show" is over. Actually, do fans have a responsibility, other than to put their butts on the aluminum benches and cheer? Which leads to another serious question, will there ever be anything other than aluminum benches?

Maybe the thread became a $hitshow and got locked?
Winner winner chicken dinner. If a thread devolves into such nonsense that I can't find a way to easily remove offending posts while keeping the topic alive, it's gonna get locked. Don't worry, you all find a way to get back to it within a few hours, one thread isn't the end of the world.

He did not appreciate the fact that he earned a one day timeout and left the board. I'm disappointed that he chose to do so as I generally valued his posts, and I hope he returns at some point.
He was clearly Adam Rittenberg, here to get additional scoops for his article.

If you miss him, just read his articles on ESPN.com.

Despite his private messages, I still refuse to subscribe to ESPN+.

Nah. Fake news. Word is he's so buried in PFF's evaluations of the first week of NFL camp practices, he hasn't appeared out of his cave in weeks.

Oh, so it wasn’t me. Hmmm. So much to like in this news.

In reviewing, Adam posted mostly on the rock, where I am not present. And send to have been more in my camp so guessing corbi, or CSC, or one of the enablers drove him away. Next question: why is CSC fixated on him?

I think it's his avatar picture.

I found a new one for some lucky poster. AKA this food genius.

Who else likes ketchup?
