Always games on Sat Sun and Weds Thurs. and that was it.. But this year, games on Mon, Tues and even Fri as well. Sure seems different. Is this the future or just a result of BIG selling it's soul for MSG?

I think I remember Dr. Jim saying it was because of the compressed schedule due to the BTT @ MSG.

I've been sincerely hoping it is just this year. I wrote a long quasi rant post at the start of the season about how it is compromising the student athlete focus of the conference. They got rid of the Tues/Weds/Thurs //// Sat/Sun structure, with predictable schedules and max 1 game during a week and min 3 days between games and max 2 straight road games. Now you see situations where teams play with only 1 day off, sometimes at two different road destinations, sometimes all of that during a school week, and up to 3 straight road games at times (we had one such stretch). I think it's a terrible shame and borderline an abomination.

I sincerely hope it is just because of the BTT, and not something that will continue going forward due to the new combo contract with FOX / ESPN / BTN.

And this is sort of beating a dead horse by this point, but I still have no idea why they went with doing MSG a week early before conf tournaments are normally supposed to be held, vs doing it at Barclays on the normal timeline. Honestly Barclays is nearly as easy to get to and I'm sure would have dumped the A10 in a second, everyone in NYC can get there, it was not worth ruining an entire conference season for some theoretical non-existent mystique of MSG.

(And mind you I live in NY and will be going to some of the games)

I don't anticipate it changing. The weird game days all tend to be the ones on FS1 games. It's garbage.

It's particularly frustrating to not have any weekend games - putting the needs of some third-rate tv network over the fans and the athletes.

There were a few things I liked about this season that I hope they work into the regular schedule.

1) I like those few December conference games. It gives the season a little jump start, rather than slogging through games against directional schools.
2) It probably says too much about me, but I like those Friday night games and 8 pm starts. I don't know why they don't do more on Fridays. If I'm a parent, I'd rather have the boys studying on a Sunday night, rather than the very few that miss a Friday class.
3) Slowly, I hate to say I'm starting to agree more and more with Bob Knight about the conference tournaments - just a money-grubbing, waste of time that kills the conference season. OTOH, it's basically the start of an all-in NCAA tournament that gives every team a chance to advance.
