It must suck to be a Northwestern fan

Can't even take a day to appreciate the win before the criticism comes out. I think it's in our DNA.

I think that you have it backwards.

Fans of traditional powers take no joy in close victories. Heck, some of them write off the entire season after one loss.

Only fans of 'climbers' like Northwestern take time to appreciate every victory (because victories come much less often.)

The better this program gets, the more this board will be to some folks' disliking.

In recent season there were obvious serious problems with the team but critics were told that was nonsense since we beat some crappy teams early in the season. This season there are problems, but on balance we have a chance for a great season.

I don't feel like there's been a lot of criticism here. There's been honest evaluation of of QB play, and obvious elation over the defensive play.

Fact is, these boards are only interesting if there are multiple opinions.

"Everything is awesome" is catchy, but boring.

I think that it is the same 5 posters or so who are making their usual trolling comments regardless of how well we do. It is the fact that they post so much makes it seem as if it is more of a problem.

There are just as many threads complaining about the complainers.

The irony is not lost on me.

Agreed, Probably just better for posters to just quietly report posts that violate the board rules to the mods rather than make threads about it, which only results in those posters responding in kind. It is so easy to report posts now compared to the old board.

This is the nature of media nowadays. The outliers tend to get most of the attention. Politics is a great example of this phenomenon.
