It's Saturday and it's college football

Good game. Upset win by Hawaii who were double digit underdogs and had been blown out by CSU last year. Hawaii got ahead and Colorado State threatened a comeback. Hawaii's field goal kicker (who was 3 for 3 on the night) all but iced it with 44 seconds to go requiring two scores for the comeback. CSU got down to the 10 and might have had chance for an onside kick if they had punched it in. Ironically, the Colorado State quarterback set a new school record with something like 480 yards, but still lost. Cole McDonald the winning QB had over 400 himself, 3 touchdowns, and 0 interceptions.

Final score HI 43 CSU 34. (Game finished at approximately 10:30 PM Central Time.)

That was a fun game to watch. UH is back to the run and shoot, which adds to the excitement and game length.

I wish the Cats would play Hawaii again, but sadly that’s not going to happen anytime soon!

It was a good game. Weirdly, I turned off at halftime to watch a movie with my family and turned it back on in the 4th quarter. I was surprised it was still on (long game) but I never got to see CSU play well. Because they did not score after I turned it back on. But it was a good ending. I was rooting for Hawaii because of how much the announcers were dissing their personnel at the beginning of the game. Quarterback probably can't throw well (400+ yards). Bad field goal kicker who went 1 for 4 all of last year (3 for 3).

Two odd things out the telecast:

1. The director let the announcers talk over and past actual plays way too much. Especially in the first quarter. I am pretty sure the vast majority of the audience is not watching the game to hear them talk. Or to see stupid graphics of caricatures of them while a play is about to start.

2. I am watching college football from home for the first time in years (yay!) and we have surround sound. They plugged all of the crowd and band noise into the back speakers. Which was kind of cool at first but got a little distracting to me and a lot distracting to my wife.
