And, for the life of me, I don't know. how. I was paying attention to him on during the timeouts, and he appeared to be wincing just sitting down on the stool. If the postgame quotes from today, Collins said he thought Cobb was done for the season, and I though he was starting the game just to put in a token appearance. Some token appearance! One of the many things that amazed me about the game tonight.

How? Warrior. Plain and simple. I don't know him, of course, except by reputation and watching his demeanor. But I have no reservations saying that the young man is very special, in numerous ways.

I'm pretty sure I'd have trouble being a fan of a basketball team that was dominated by "one and done" types. There is something to be said for watching a guy like Jershon mature, improve, tough it out, and become a leader by example ... even when beset by injuries and having to sit our a year for a "team rules" violation.

Wonder if he will play a lot vs. Io-a or might CC save him for the BTT.

After that game coming off the injury he had, there might not be anything left to save. I hope we see him against Iowa and in the BTT but I would also not be surprised if it turned out he had played his last game. Adrenaline might have gotten him through that game but what happens when it wears off? I hope I am completely wrong and he is healed and he gets to play solid minutes in some more meaningful games.

The playing 33 minutes is ridiculous.

But to play like he did, nailing tough shots, grabbing crucial rebounds. I don't know that I've seen that before at the college level after a month layoff. He walked in cold against finely tuned Big Ten athletes and did that? Sick.

The other thing that's really tough after a layoff is playing tight D. You just can't move. The zone helped a bit.

Impressive performance by Jershon Cobb, and an impressive display of grit and determination. After a college career so dominated by injuries, it was wonderful and satisfying to watch -- and getting the win in double overtime made it even better. I hope he still has some good minutes left for the rest of this season. If so, the next couple of games will be fun.

Cobb has had a LONG ride here. How long ago did he cross over McCamey (twice!) with Raftery screaming on CBS? If only he could have stayed healthy. He has the skills of an all-conference player. Tre will get most of the attention today, but Cobb going for 10 in a row and then fighting guys off for rebounds kept us alive. I'll sincerely miss watching him.

It was like Jershon willed the team to win. He had some impressive snapshots of great play during his five years at NU. He was a Top 100 recruit (closer to 100) but he was healthy this year, I believe we win at least three-five other games and would be at 10-7 (see Md. loss when he could not box out and Dez Wells jumped over him, the close losses to MSU, UM and OSU also come to mind). Well, we still have his performance against UM to remember what a competitor he is. Hopefully, he plays on Saturday and we pull it out against Franny and the Eye Gouger.

Real gritty and inspiring performance by Cobb.

Couldn't be happier for him after the injury-riddled season has has had (much less career).

It seems, and at the same time, doesn't seem - that long ago when Cobb was a fresh-faced frosh who showed flashes of his talent (just smooth) interwoven with moments of uncontrolled play.

Aside from his body breaking down, the situation around Cobb's suspension was disappointing - but he instead of giving up, he hung in there and turned things around.

He has really impressed me w/ his maturity and in being a great teammate despite everything.

As I had stated prior, could have been one of the NU greats if he had stayed relatively healthy, but b/c of the way he has dealt w/ his seemingly endless set-backs, has become one of my all-time faves.
