It’s been sad for at least a decade. I turned it on for the first time in years, just hoping he wasn’t there.

I recall Namath's debut on MNF. A player bungled a play on O and Namath just nailed him. Loved it. But it was against MNF's code of cheerfulness and so he was gone like a cool breeze.
