Someone made a comment in another thread that classes at Nu were not that hard because the professors were really good & small class size, etc and that the trick was just to get in.
I remember applying to NU, I had mediocre grades but very good test scores (99% across the board). At age 16, I was afraid I might get in and not be able to pull it off. I can remember being both disappointed and relieved not to get in.
I ended up at Illinois and did't do well because at age 17 I was lost in the vastness of the University. Later I went to a smaller school and did fine.
I guess I'm asking now because I went to Morgan Park like Ayo Dosunmu. I get this weird feeling that his lean to Illinois could partly be academic intimidation. I know I'm just projecting my own experience on him but some recruits must experience the same fears that I did.
Taking on the rigors of an athlete in the B1G is huge all by itself. It would be even more daunting of you felt the academic pressure was going to be worse at NU.
When we are recruiting kids, how do they explain that?
