Justin Jackson

He is a special player and looks like a NFL running back. Even more special: if he doesn't make the league he seems like the kind of young man who will always represent NU well and will have a world of opportunities post football, a la Darnell Autry.

He just makes running the football look effortless and that is a very unique quality. Glad we have him for (at least) 23-35 more college games.

Just got back from the game. JJ is just outstanding. Stanford new he was getting the ball and still couldn't stop him. He has a knack of finding a crack even when one doesn't appear to be there and always seems to make a few extra yards after contact. Jackson was the offensive MVP and Anthony Walker was equally impressive as the defensive MVP.

Being able to successfully throw the ball down the field this year will make Jackson even better. Last year it was all short passes. If the OL plays this well consistently, we should have a really good year. BTW what was up with Stanford's play-calling??? Would have thought they would have thrown the ball down the field more to their big receivers, especially when they got behind late.

I don't know that they could have....our secondary played as well as hyped IMO. I think they were conservative in the 1st half on 3rd and 5+ because they thought they'd just pick those up easily throwing in the 2nd half....didn't work out that way.

Receivers didn't do much to help hogan out either - but drops are part of the game and credit to the defense for a great game

134 yards. He deserves a thread named after him.
On TV he had a couple of those Walter Paytonesque moments and it is the way he throws the stiff arm as he comes around the end of the line.

Not only does JJ have a knack for finding cracks, but he continues to amaze me w/ his ability to gain those extra yds after contact.

The Broncos are trying to trade Montee Ball who has slid down the depth chart and in all likelihood off the Broncos.

Maybe the new Broncos O isn't the best fit for Ball, but he lacks the vision and doesn't have the speed to outrun NFL defenders - so another WIsky RB faltering in the NFL when he no longer has the UW O-line opening up huge holes.

Actually, both Jackson and Green got their longest runs towards the end of the season when Siemian was healthy enough to run and buy time for the passing game w/ his legs - which caused opposing DCs to play the pass but w/ the 'Cats handing off.

If Cam returns and both he and CJ are healthy - might be able to take shots down/stretch the field.
