Pardon was wearing a uniform. Is this common? Could he burn his shirt if JVG is out for extended time?
More revenge form the basketball Gods. They just hate NU.
Sorry but that is just stupid.More revenge form the basketball Gods. They just hate NU.

I guess I'm overly sensitive to superstition. I don't believe in "the fates".Why is that stupid? Coble, Shurna, Crawford, Swopshire, Cobb, Law.........

I had a stress fracture years ago and it did not hurt to walk. I didn't know I had it for almost a year as when I had gone to the orthopedic surgeon it did not show up on the Xray. They had supposedly scheduled me for a bone scan and the only one they did not tell was me so I struggled through for a year trying to give it rest (but never enough) doing other thingsHe was not walking at all gingerly while wearing the boot tonight. If Collins hopes to have him back for some minutes during the Christmas game, that's a good sign. The team was obviously rusty to start, but quickly got it back. I'd really like to see Aaron keep taking shots, but Tap has been money this year!

The problem we have always had is we have never had depth. The odds are that there will be injuries. We never had the talent to overcome them. A single injury would occur and we were done. Both because enough talent never came and then because the backups never really played enough to be ready when the injuries did occur. Under BC how often did we even have a second PG on the roster? When a guy like Coble or Schurna went downthere was no one who could fill their role. And since we had no PF or legitimate center, each loss was even more damaging. Think of how bad it could have been if Juice or Sobo had gone down those years. Why is that stupid? Coble, Shurna, Crawford, Swopshire, Cobb, Law.........
Just that our lack of depth made those losses more critical.Gotcha. It probably isn't fate. But the historical record is pretty depressing.

The difference is now, we have quality backups for every position. So even when Law goes down, it does not cripple us. Still hurts but not a season wrecker. And more depth is on the way. So going forward, the injuries will be more hiccups than game changers.
The only thing I'd ask, sadly, is . . . Revenge for what???More revenge form the basketball Gods. They just hate NU.
On which squad was Cobb the best player?I don't care how much depth you have, losing the best player on the team will be a killer. And Shurna, Coble, Crawford and Cobb were the best players on their respective teams when they got hurt. This season Vic is probably the 3rd best guy which is why the loss hasn't been as devastating.

Unfortunately, Cobb was never healthy enough to be the best player. Could he have been? Yes but he was never healthy enough. And had he not had injury problems, Collins would likely never have seen him.Going into last season, Collins said he felt Cobb was the go-to guy. I have no doubt a healthy Cobb would have been the best player on the team. He won the Michigan game for NU for heaven's sake.....
"None of that could wipe the smile off his face as he proudly proclaimed, “I’m undefeated in Senior Nights in my career.”
What a night it was. In what was undoubtedly his best game of the season, Cobb dropped 14 points while hauling in eight rebounds. With Northwestern trailing late in regulation, he scored nine straight and was so in the zone that when a reporter later asked about that stretch, Cobb remarked, “Really? I didn’t know that.” "

Yeah. BMac at 28 mins against CSU was good. Demps at 34 in a 42 pt win..? Not so much. But if you have depth, the chances that your top guys will get injured lessens because they're not on the court as much. A prime example of that was Shurna's injury. It was the last couple minutes of a blowout victory over a cupcake right before the B1G season, and Shurna was still in the game because the team had such little depth. That one was killer.
It's why we're worried about alleviating the MPG of BMac and Demps. CCC is trying with BMac, but seems to think Demps is an iron man...
