Remember Kale? with the weird shooting style. After two playing years at Drake in which he was benched this year (also scored 41 in a game) is on the move again.I think this time as a 5th yr graduated guy. Not so unusual to see a guy play for 3 schools in a career anymore.

Kale played 2 years at NU but just 1 for the Drake. He sat out a year after transferring.

Giacoletti suspended him for the final regular season game. Drake won this game, after going 1-16 in the MVC previously. If posters on the Drake board are correct, he purportedly was pouting on the bench during this game.

He then only played 3 minutes at Arch Madness. His "minus" was significant enough in those three minutes that it more than accounted for the spread Drake lost by.

I've kept up with the Drake board all year (Drake is my #2 team) and I've never seen Drake's fan base dislike a player to this extent. It also extended to the MVC board.

This player did achieve an exceptional GPA at Drake. Plans to attend grad school in Psychology, IIRC.

He wasn't a problem during his two years at NU. Worked very hard but maybe not a big ten body for his position. Maybe the problem is with the state of Iowa.

And, NU seems to have a problem fixing guys' shots. Guys that shoot from their waist are easily blocked. Raising the release point is one of the easiest changes for a good shooter. It's the smooth release (hands and wrist) that's so hard teach. It took about 10 minutes for Shurna's European coach to fix his shot.

While on my shooting rant....the backboard. Use it. It is your friend. It will raise average conversion rates to above average.

Jerry Harkness the All-American from Loyola on the 63 Championship team made his living on the 15 ft bank shot. The pull up jump shot and mid-range bank shots are a lost art. With the 3 point line the 3 point shot and finishing at the basket have become the 1 and 2 offensive options.
Saw Jerry Harkness at Arch Madness this year as he was inducted into the MVC Hall of Fame. He is a classy guy and looks like he could still make the 15 footer.
