Actually, no. My post wasn't in response to anyone or anything on this board.
This past summer I posted a very loose analysis of 247's performance predicting NU recruiting. Can't speak for Fitzphile but my post was an addendum to that.
I was simply reporting on a 247sports prediction. I was bringing something new to the table. So Kent chose to go to UT because of the academics and future job opportunities. Kind of ironic that the UT football team's 5 star RB Jalen Hurd is transferring after a 3 game losing streak and their football team is a train wreck. I guess Hurd did not like the academic potential at Tennessee. No problem. The question is who will Collins and his staff target next.
I'm not sure who we will sign with the remaining scholarship. It does make this year very important to exceed the expectations generally around the program. An NCAA birth and prospects like AYo Domasu and The two Ohio prospects Carmody and Cohill will see us in a much better light. The next class is important in continuing our upward trajectory
Where is the premature poster's claim that football staff should be fired? Or has he figured out that Brown is the backup PG yet? Or that many Big 10 teams have not finished with their 2017 basketball recruiting yet. There is the possibility that NU recruits a high school senior who has a breakout senior season and whose game is developing from his junior and senior season for the 12th and/or 13th spot on NU's roster.
Eventually NU mens bball will have to beat quality teams with some regularity and create some kind of a success in Big Ten Conference play.
That will make the whole recruiting thing much easier.
