Last Season Documentary

in some of the clips you notice the relationship between the students and the team.....would be neat to see that in football. Would have to move the student section directly behind the team bench to create that kind of climate in football...logistically probably difficult but would still be cool...and help the overall atmosphere.

I have to think that if both teams had success for a few years in a row, it would be contagious.

I think all you need is a small taste of success, and you will find it suits you.

That was a great documentary, fitting for such a historic and memorable season.

Great documentary. Aa a parent, impressed by how well-grounded these young men are. Also feeling a lot of appreciation for the guys who did move on. Chase of course, and Robbie - who did a lot of little things that made a difference. I also think Julian was important to us when healthy. When not, he was clearly all-in supporting his team from the bench. But not visible in the documentary.

Well, the student section used to be on the east side of the stadium in the past (Gary Barnett era), which is generally the side that NU's bench is on. I can't remember which year they moved it to its current location (5-10 years ago, if I recall correctly), but I believe one of the rationales was that having the student section on the west side of the stadium (which is the side that the TV cameras generally capture more often) would provide better optics.

Rogerkim, other than having east and west reversed, I think you are correct on this. It may be more than ten years ago. Time flies now that we're old.
For a moment there, I thought my wife was ghostwriting Roger's post. . . she's not so hot at directions either.

I liked it alot better when the students sat to the left (North!) my group's season tix. When they got moved, that whole section of the stadium became rife with loud obnoxious fans of our opponents. There was supposed to be a competitive advantage by moving our sideline to the east side of the stadium (so that our coaches upstairs could more quickly see which substitutions were being made), but I never bought that). I'm a tv fan now, so it doesn't really matter where they put the students...

Finally got around to watching this doc. It’s so, so good. What a season, fittingly commemorated. The goosebumps returned.

Yeah, for a couple of seasons, my season tix were on the east side so that I would be in closer proximity to the the current location of the student section. After a while, I realized that being close to the student section was a poor substitute for my memories of being in the student section and I actually preferred watching games from the west side of the field, particularly for 11:00 kickoffs in the early fall.
