For the Stanford game this year, I hope our coaches learn from the Purdue game last year.
(1) Thorson came out on fire, and we were quickly leading by two touchdowns. Then they pulled CT, put in TJ, and the offense sputtered. By pulling CT, we lost our momentum and let Purdue back into the game. Would have been much better to let CT continue to build a nice 3-4 TD lead, and then pull him to 'rest' or because of his 'pitch-count'.
(2) Purdue sputtered throughout our game and the beginning of the year, while trying to find the right QB. Did better once they settled on a single guy.
If McCall truly believes the key to success is "PLAYERS --> FORMATIONS --> PLAYS", then I hope he anoints HJ as the starter, calls formations and plays that maximizes his skillset, and lets it rip.
I wanna see our guys "Hang 40" points on the Cardinal.
