Indiana is garbage
Purdue is garbage
UMass is garbage
Minnesota thinks they aren’t garbage, which is cute
Illinois is garbage

The pessimists among us thought we could be here, even if NU was pretty good. So here we are, 1-6 (though probably not ‘pretty good’).

Let’s do this, cats.

We MIGHT win 5 in a row. Just not this year

Also garbage: MSU, Neb and Stanford

Meaning: lost to garbage 3 times: NU. Plus lost to another team that lost to one you classify as garbage.

Lame.

Those teams might not be powerhouses, but as garbage goes, that’s some pretty high-end garbage. Minnesota’s record is deceiving, but they certainly don’t blow. Indiana hasn’t played the toughest schedule, but if they beat us tonight, they’re tied with Michigan 2/3 of the way through the season. Perhaps not mind blowing, but certainly a solid cut above garbage. And if Rondale Moore is back when we play Purdue (full disclosure - I have no idea the extent of his injury), that game’s not a lock either. That said, we’ve seen our guys rally with some impressive late-season performances more years than not recently, so . . . aw, hell, sign me up for this.

How so? Purdue just beat Nebraska who beat us. So did Indiana. ILL beat Wisconsin who beat us. Stanford 4-4 in a joke of a conference, giving up 30 pts a game. Minnesota is 8-0 and has crushed its last 4 opponents.

My point - our supposed "difficult" early season opponents are frauds, YOUR supposed "garbage" opponents are pretty good. Will we lose out on B1G? Probably not. But if we play like we have so far, the odds are against us in every game but UMass. I hope for improvement but see no evidence so far.

This is not a thread for logic! This is thread for believing in five in a row!
