Losing Scottie hurts, no question about that. And against a team like Purdue it's particularly tough. But it's not like Collins is devoid of options. I also don't agree with those that think Brown will play 30 minutes tomorrow. I would go...

Start BMac (36 mins), Vic (34 mins), Sanjay (33 mins), Skelly (24 mins), Pardon (33 mins).

That leaves 40 minutes for the bench. I would play Brown 20 mins, Ash 5 mins, and Benson 15 mins. If Vic (or BMac) gets into foul trouble then Isaiah needs to go a bit more. If Skelly or Pardon gets into foul trouble then Benson needs to go a bit more. Btw is it confirmed 100% that Tap is out? Would be useful to have him...

So we play 1 G / 3 F / 1 C for a good portion of the game. Vic and Sanjay are plenty quick enough to cover the perimeter. It works particularly well against Purdue since they are big inside. We transition Sanjay to playing at the 3 primarily instead of the 4, tick up the minutes to Skelly and Benson, and then fill the rest in from there.

Yes this rotation of primarily 7 guys will get tired, but plenty of college bball teams have rolled with it before. Fouls are potentially an issue, but we mostly lost depth at G, while foul trouble tends to focus on the bigs. We have 6 days from Purdue until Illinois, and then another 5 from then until Wisconsin. Illinois is more inside oriented too, they have Hill and Abrams outside but we can guard them with our remaining roster. Brown can guard Abrams or Lucas also. And Wisconsin, well they are a fundamental / defense / disciplined team more so than one that will run us off the court... and we prob weren't going to win in the Kohl Center anyways.

So everyone calm down, this is a setback but we'll be okay. Team will give it all they've got on the court and then recover between games. Tap will be back for Illinois, Scottie will hopefully be back in a couple weeks or so.

Incidentally, I retract my casual suggestion this morning that we may want to try pressing Purdue a bit.......

And if CC was worried about them reading press clippings and getting cocky, now they have plenty of other things to focus on.....

Foul issues are the real problem. We can likely handle the rest against most teams. Hopefully Scottie is not out too long and recovers to full strength pretty quickly. Same for Tap. With both of them we are a dance team. without them, we get warn down and have foul problems hurting our D.

Agree with your thinking on the starting lineup and rotations for Purdue. I think they can actually make this work. It requires Sanjay to hit a couple theees and a lot of crashing the offensive glass to get points. Theyll need to play very smart against Swanigan to avoid getting into foul trouble. The help D from the wings will need to be exceptional. Everyone is going to need to find just a bit more to make up for the points loss from Lindsey and Tap. I think more of this loss can be made up on the defensive end with your proposed lineup.

It will be interesting to see if Collins uses that lineup, as they have not been on the floor together this far in conference. I expect Brown to slide into the starting role with Skelly remaining on the bench. That lineup has played 11th possessions and is +5. The other lineup Collins has played has Skelly for Lumpkin, and that lineup has outscored teams 13-1 in 10 possessions. The key tonight will be staying out of foul trouble for the centers.

Isiah Brown. Your time is now.

He is the one. It was written.

Yeah - I suspect he'll use all those lineups at different times during the games. Brown will certainly play his fair share, but for the minutes he isn't out there (I don't think he'll play 30) personally I'd rather run Vic at the "2" alongside a couple other forwards than try to experiment too much with Ash. Especially given the size of Purdue. We haven't seen the 3 F lineups this season cause we didn't need to use them given personnel... now we do.

Agree with you on the foul trouble, just not that many pieces to move in if that becomes an issue. Also would be lovely if we can get 1H Indiana quality minutes from Benson.
