It wasn't run particularly well but it got NU back in the game. It would have worked a lot better had they trapped when the ball went to the baseline. Taphorn's second foul (the one our commentators thought was on VZ) only happened because he didn't trap the Columbia forward.
Since you can't put your hands on anyone driving to the basket this defense is a nice way to protect players from fouling too much, keeps our bigs from chasing players all over the court, and is tough to solve in 30 seconds.
