Not the Cats best defensive game to date. Credit to Ball State for that, and obviously the injuries didn't help either. I did want to point out though that this defense has given up only three TD's through four games. And even more impressively, only one of those three drives started outside our 30 yard line.
The defense, especially tonight, has had to step up numerous times after turnovers. They have had to battle against a short field on numerous occasions. Sure, the tackling wasn't great tonight, and they've got to get healthy, but this is really a special defense. They are showing that they are one of those rare defenses that can carry a team, and could potentially even lead us to a special season while the offense gains experience and continues to improve. Love watching them play and fly around.
