Let's not discount the role that our guards had in the game. B Mac and Tre were regularly breaking down the defense to garner extra attention which helped Pardon do his thing. On the flip side, while our guards had some trouble finishing today I think Pardon's performance will give them extra confidence to up their aggressiveness knowing that if they miss they have someone who can clean up. This is a type of basketball we have not seen at NU in a long time.

Also let's not forget that our prior coach clearly did not develop big men as well as our current staff. So I am excited to see what Pardon can bring us for the next 3-4 years.

The offense has improved dramatically from last year. With BMac and Tre able to penetrate and a bunch of three point shooters at the wings we have lots of weapons. Olah and Pardon give us an inside presence and good rebounding. CC also likes to push the ball down the floor and take advantage of the transition when the defenses are not set. He has really put together an effective and entertaining offense.

Seven offensive rebounds. God bless B Mac and Tre, but nobody was responsible for those offensive rebounds except for Dererk. That is some heavy duty lifting.

Did you see how wide open he was to get to those rebounds. BMac and Tre driving sucked to D to them. DP put himself in the right place and definitely took advantage but it was a team effort.

What I loved was 7 O RB and he went directly up and scored on most if not all of them. JVZ does the same much more that we are used to seeing. Probably about a years worth (for us) of that type of put backs in that one game.

No disrespect to other administrations...or various commentators, but that is why, I always thought there was absolutely no value in the A / FGM statistic. Any statistic that views a stick-back in a negative light (or a steal, fast break and dunk) is meaningless. Just my opinion.
