Isn't it non-optimal (not to say outright STOOOOPID) to schedule multiple major conference champ games in the (virtually) identical time slot (P12, ACC, B1G?
Doesn't that hurt ALL such games?
Major conference champ games work as de-facto play-in games for the NC. Hence, they could interest every FB fan, regardless of the conference affiliation of his own team.

Funny that two competing games are on sister networks (ABC/ESPN). As if every network wanted its game to be in "the best" time slot....but the best slot is no longer the best when there are other major games in direct head-on competition in that slot.

A solution could have been for FOX and ESPN to devise some scheme to coordinate the schedules (say, at random with a simple draft-type scheme where the luckiest network chooses first). Oh well...

Two problems:

1) They moved the Pac-12 title game from Friday night to Saturday.

2) Everyone is terrified of going head to head with the SEC title game.

ESPN also has the contracts for the American, CUSA, and MWC title games, so those have to go somewhere, not to mention Texas-Baylor.

Interesting, since the SEC game could end up being the most boring of the title games this year if it goes as most expect. We'll see what happens. It is not starting well for Florida.
