MAX GREEN IS A WILDCAT!!!

Well verbalcommits finally added Luke Hunger to their official list of transfers.
And Coral's "campus visits" tweet is good information.
Remarkable how "under the radar" Hunger's transfer has been, given the fact that he is probably leaving a BigTen team.

Hard to imagine a situation where Collins will go into next season with Bennerman as his only big guy... despite his potential.
I guess incoming Tyler Kropp is listed at 6'9" 220 - a classic power forward.
And we're trying to get a decent big guy from the portal...
Seems like it might be difficult to find a guy better than Lue Hunger...

In other notes, Bake Barkley committed to East Tennessee State. He was one of the Gragg Ultimatum recruits.

Always true for transfers from lower conferences. At 6’6” with outside range, I see his skills translating to power competition. Look at the schools pursuing Green. They feel the same.

I did some looking around on on the web... The University of Kentucky message board had a whole thread on Max Green. He played high school ball in KY, so people were aware of him. He was a late bloomer according to some (others dispute that) and his profile increased significantly as a high school senior, when he led the state in scoring. Like Nick Martinelli and Justin Mullins, his recruiting prior to that was tepid - he had offers from a couple MAC and A10 teams. Some questioned his defense - but that seemed just general internet stuff. Nobody saw Green as more than a bench piece for Kentucky (not surprising given their opinion of themselves).

I was not able to find any reports of interest from other schools besides Florida State - other than Louie's statements naming Saint John's and Illinois.

This quote is from Feb 2024... from his dad.

“There’s lots of other kids in this state who have been full grown for three or four years; they have man bodies,” Eric said. “They’re finished products. Max isn’t, by any means. There’s a ton he will be able to add to his game once he adds 15-20 pounds of muscle, which is eventually going to happen."

Will be interesting to see how he does competing with Angelo Ciaravino for a role.

Don't you mean "Max Green grew up in a town that I ruled for 3 years..."
That's what the streets say.

He went to North Oldham, that's more posh Oldham County than where my kids went. Their assigned HS would have been Oldham County HS. Which strangely is not south of North Oldham.

But at least he is not so posh as to be from Crestwood, Prospect or Goshen. Truly Oldham County royalty.

I'm not claiming any inside knowledge - but does visiting other schools programs preclude him from staying? If I were in his shoes and if I were considering staying, I'd do the visits just for leverage: e.g. to strengthen my hand in terms of NIL money.
Wondering the same thing. The fact that he's visiting a couple of schools and has "heard from" others does not say to me "definitely gone."

Especially under the current circumstances, in which Cats are truly desperate for an experienced big.
