Here's my take on Michigan. Lloyd Carr ran a pro style scheme. He recruited guys that fit his system. Then he got the boot and Rich Rod came in running the spread and the 3-3-5 and sucked and pissed everyone off and got fired. Rich Rod is a good coach, but he couldn't be successful with Carr's players. Then Hoke came in. I don't think Hoke is a good coach, but I don't think he's as brutal as many make him out to be. Problem is, his oline was a mess because he kept trying to go to pro offense with spread lineman. Furthermore, he had QB issues. He recruited EXTREMELY WELL along with Rich Rod. Class ranking (yes, take them with a grain of salt) were 2014 31 2013 5 2012 7 2011 21. These are the kids that are playing now.

Now in come Harbaugh and he brings in Ruddock. Is Ruddock a phenomenal QB? No, but he's good enough. They have lots of weapons at RB (including Ty Isaac that isn't even in the recruiting rankings). Their defense was always good. Bottom line is Harbaugh is a damn good coach (even if he's a bad person) and has gotten them going. They lost to Utah by 7. The same Utah team that gave Oregon a 42 point beat down. That's the same Oregon team that gave MSU a game.

Bottom line is from what I've seen on the field, it would not shock me if Michigan wins the Big Ten East.

Michigan's the one game we can probably afford to lose and still win the West. (I'd rather beat them in the rematch, anyway.)

If we're still banged up and need to rest some guys to heal up, do it against Michigan, since it's not a must-win. We don't have our bye for several weeks yet but we're plenty banged up. Still try to win, of course, but don't put any players at unnecessary risk.

Would shock me. Michigan has 3rd in the East written all over them.

Yes, they're good, and with Harbaugh as coach, they can definitely win the B1G east this year. It pains me to say that.

I'm worried about our game there next week. I consider it to be the hardest game left on our schedule.

I think I'd rather beat Michigan and lose 2 games in the West. I can't stand them and the last three losses to them were excruciating. Now they are good again and the window is about to close on our fingers

They looked better than OSU last week

True, and USC looked better than Stanford in week 1. Michigan has improved and will continue to do so. But they had a pretty low bar in evaluating improvement. At least by Michigan standards.

With the exception of the Va Tech game, Meyer and company has been using the Conference pre-season as a pre-season.

Regardless, it's too early to assume how the season is going to turn out for any team.
