With their victory over Maryland, Minnesota has tied us for 4th place in the B1G and overtaken us (tie-breaker) as the leader for the #4 seed in the BTT. The Gophers have won 6 in a row...and they will be heavy favorites in their next two games--at home against PSU and at home against Nebraska.

We will likely have to go 3-0 the rest of the way to overtake the Gophers. With the teams we have to face and the way we have been playing for the past few weeks, this seems very unlikely.

That was a big game last night if we were going to have a good chance at the 4 - and Maryland let us down.

I hate to say I agree that whiny little Richie's team is a problem.

The Cats control their destiny, however, I think they also need to be top-5 in the conference.

Considering how bad the conference is, I'd set the over/under at 6 tourney bids.

MInny is the best team in the BIG right now. They have every element to make runs in both the BTT and the Dance.

Don't sleep on Michigan either.

There are no easy games in the BIG for NU. I would have loved to get the double bye.

Next year, my man. Next year.

Just hope the "lesser team" isn't Illinois;)
I may regret posting this, but a big part of me wants a rematch against Illinois in our first game of the BTT.

My logic: It's very hard to beat a quality Big Ten team 3 times in one season, Scotty should be much healthier, and while it will be awesome no matter what if we make it to the Dance for the first time in school history - it would also be surreal to do so while going winless versus the Illini. Just saying. (ducks)

I would have to agree with Fitz51 that a win against a lesser team is what NU might need to pad their resume. Think Illinois might be the perfect opponent. Odds of losing 3 times in a season to them would not be high.
I remember once when Dave Eanet asked Coach Carmody about it being tough for one team to beat another 3 times in a season...Carmody in typical fashion replied with something along the lines of even if that's the case, I'd still like to be the guy who has the first two.
