Minnesota @ NU: 11 AM CT, BTN

as it says in the thread title.
Crap, NU is undefeated and still gets these terrible start times from the BTN. Wonder who gets the 3PM kickoff that Saturday and also why is Homecoming vs. Io-a also set for 11AM. The BTN shouldn't even bother showing Purdue and Illinois but guess they have to feature that powerhouse Indiana squad.

Homecoming football is set way in advance so that the schedule of other homecoming activities can be established in advance.

Don't take this kickoff time personally. While getting the prime time booking is always sort of an honor, I honestly don't think ESPN differentiates between 11 a.m. and 2:30 kickoffs. We'll be opposite Iowa/Wisconsin that week which also got an 11 a.m. kick, which is arguably the best B1G conference game of that week.

Prime time games are set before the season starts. The 2:30 ABC kick is always the top choice from the remaining games, so in this case ESPN rated Ohio State-Indiana as the most attractive game. After that, though, the selection order changes from week to week so it's impossible to know how the networks prioritized the games.

damn....hate the 11:00 AM games when we play a good opponent. Plus tOSU/Indiana will be a dog game really thought we would be the marquee game of the day in the Big Ten

Maybe they thought there was a chance for an upset special for OSU-Indiana game.

My guess is that it's simply that OSU is #1 in the country. The #1 team always gets major attention.

Even though NU draws viewers from around the country (and, including Eurocat, me and others, the world), my guess is dOSU draws a lot larger audience than NU and Minny combined.

Can't argue that, but there's no way on God's green earth that that game will be more compelling/competitive than ours.

Probably bigger than NU, Minny, Purdue, Rutgers, Maryland and Illinois combined!!

Sure they put up big numbers but when its a route the causal fan turns the channel and puts on the SEC or that SISB game on. Heck I thought the 2:30 slot was between our game and the Iowa/Wisconsin game. we are playing Michigan in the 2:30 time slot the following week probably why we got bounced but regardless tOSU/Indiana is going to be brutal unless Crean and Matta's teams decide to have a scrimmage at half time

That Indiana O is pretty dynamic. Their D needs work but that O is interesting.

OSUs O is challenged and Indiana's D is. It could be more interesting than most expect. The schedule is what it is. With an 11 o'clock game we will not have shadows across the field in the second half. Nothing like a 10 AM beer and not being called an alcoholic for having one (or two)

Unlikely -- that game time was determined before the season because it's Michigan's homecoming, and could just as easily be on BTN as ABC.
