Moore commits to Indiana

Bummer. Thought he was NU bound for sure. Wonder who loses a scholarship at IU to fit him in?

Good question. Right now they have under scholarship 5 Juniors, 3 Sophomores, 4 Freshman and 3 "17" commits for a total of minus 2 scholarships left.

I guess he figures Thomas Bryant will go pro after his Sophomore season. That's one. Maybe another will leave too.

Too bad for the kid who will sit on the bench behind Juwan Morgan for two years and then could fall behind other new recruits.

Separate from the basketball....have a lot of friends who went to IU....beautiful campus and just a lot going for it outside of sports....don't begrudge a kid at all for choosing IU and hope the young man does well

And Indiana is still trying to get a commitment from 5-star Kris Wilkes from Indy. Guys like Tom Priller are probably looking over their shoulders right now as the Creaning will begin soon.

The career-ending injuries are just around the corner....;)

I didn't realize how many players have left the Hoosiers. Here is a list of players that would have still been on the roster this year. I left off a few walk-ons because the list was getting too long.

Troy Williams (PRO) WENT PRO
Jeremy Hollowell (RS)(TR) GEORGIA STATE
Noah Vonleh (PRO) WENT PRO
Hanner Mosquera-Perea (RS)(DM) EAST TENNESSEE STATE
Jordan Fuchs(LT) PLAYS FB AT IU
Luke Fischer (TR) MARQUETTE
Peter Jurkin (RS)(TR) EAST TENNESSEE STATE
Stanford Robinson (RS)(TR) RHODE ISLAND
Devin Davis (RS)(DM) HOUSTON
Nate Ritchie (FWO)(LT) STILL ENROLLED INDIANA
Emmitt Holt (DM) PROVIDENCE
Jeremiah April (TR) TRINITY VALLEY
Harrison Niego (FWO)(TR) HILLSDALE
Max Hoetzel(RS)(TR) SAN DIEGO STATE

Wow. Just wow. So much for student-athlete as a concept at IU. More like a try-out camp.

The excellent list above compiled by nucatnap is why I went there Fitzphile and a number of those guys were on the list were 4 or 5 star guys. Hollowell, Mosquera-Perea were 4 star players who never developed. Please draw reasonable conclusions here. When 12 players leave your program in a three year span it is a trend. When a 4-star player in Juwan Morgan plays your same position and is a sophomore, it should be noted that his chances of seeing the floor are made more limited as they would be at NU as he would be a 4-star stretch 4 in Falzon.

Rule number one: All High School Seniors being recruited at this level are being told, you are on your way to the pros. Sitting on the bench is not a topic of recruiting discussion.

Rule number two: Almost all these recruits believe it. The other 4 and 5 star recruits already there are not their focus.

Rule number three: Most parents believe it too. Their kid has always been the best . Too many think the next stop in the pros.

Rule number four: Tom Crean has a long history of overrecruiting and then blowing out players. He is the Jim Harbaugh of basketball. And these academic institutions reward this lack of integrity with long and lucrative contracts so long as they are winning...Just a reality check...
