MSU's Miles Bridges Holding NBA decision party in an hour

Grow up kittens. It's big news when a lock for the lottery says no to the NBA. Every expert that reacted so far moved MSU well into their top 5 for next year just based on this announcement. There were hundreds there if not more. He talked about love for his team, his coach, and his school. Show some class.

You get your feelings hurt? Yes, it is vain to hold a declaration party to announce you're staying in school.

Good move by Miles. He could have been a millionaire next year yet risks injury to play for free. Kudos to him for staying. MSU is going to be very good.

I think Gonzaga showed us that we need a fourth in case of fouls, but also helps with practice. I think we'll be great, though when I see MSU has a lot of bigs who can run, it can be an issue.

Virginia and Spartcat, you're both right. His coming back IS quite a big deal, and calling a party to announce it IS rather vain.

It is vain, but not unexpected. If I were under 21 and had dozens of middle-aged men drooling at the thought of recruiting me to throw a large ball through a metal hoop, it probably would be hard to avoid a little vanity.

It is business too. He is now just a little more famous. His added press helped MSU get buzz and if he survives the season with out major injury, name recognition will increase his draft status for next year even if his play doesn't change. Look how long this thread is and he isn't even on our team.

Vain. Very vain. Which, of course, in the modern "me ... me ... me" world is perfectly acceptable.

Bridges is a 6'7", 6'8" SF and would be a good match with Vic Law and not Pardon. MSU will be the favorite in the Big 10 with Minny closely behind them. MSU has a 2 5-stars in C Jackson and SF Bridges and a high level 4-star in Ward and 2 other 4-stars in Winston and Langford. The positives for NU is that Mark Smith may be less attracted to go there and rot on the bench. Izzo is desperate to try to win a national championship which he has not done since 2000 when Mateen Cleeves and his crew did it. No Big 10 team has won it since then and convinced Bridges to stay in East Lansing over getting picked from no. 10-20 in the NBA first round.

I will give the kid some credit as he obviously could have gone pro and gotten a decent offer this year. I've seen players with a lot lower upside than him go pro. With the class Izzo has coming in and some of his injured players returning, the Spartans will be tough next season.

Yeah, Izzo's got some serious horses ready to run this season. Their transition game could be scary.

Deering: Respectfully, I don't think name recognition will change his draft status one iota.

From the Big Show last night, Miles got the idea of a big announcement at Sparty from Draymond Green, who he talks to about once a week. He talked about how it was really pretty easy because he loved college, etc. All the "Miles has a big ego" people should see that interview. You are all full of it.

On next year, I can't wait to see how we fill out our lineup, and we have every reason, barring injury, to be an elite big 10 team next year. I hope at least one of our places goes to a freshman so the cupboard will be less bare in 18-19.

As for Smith, we would be a great choice although we are already pretty deep for next year because as a soph. he could really have a chance to break out. However, MSU lost two off guards (Harris and Ellis) and do have a place in the rotation for him, and maybe even in the starting lineup if he can beat out Langford. I hope NU can get him, but either choice makes basketball sense.
