Nebraska fans...

Some internet Nebraska fans have stolen the "Ioa" thing from you guys and they're using it casually as if it was their idea. I hate "Ioa" because I know what it means, but it's still objectively hilarious. And it belongs to one fanbase. I don't care if you're unimpressed with Iowa as a school. We have some academic standards and plenty of pride. Apart from the Steelers' jerseys, we don't take kindly to plagiarism. As a Big Ten guy, that's irritating. They're trying to be both the real NU and the fanbase who calls Iowa "Ioa." I hope you (continue to) insist on calling them UN-L. You can encourage them to call us "Ioa" if you think it should become global, but please at least berate them for stealing the idea from you.

As for Saturday, I don't know how either team is going to score without help. I want to hate you guys more because of how successful NU has been against Iowa, but I actually do enjoy your internet fans. That was an acquired taste.

So your whole post gains tons of merit for calling us NU. Just saying

It won't happen consistently on the Iowa board. "Northwestern" is a direction to most people and the abbreviation follows. Particularly when Northwestern is east of Iowa and situated as a 'burb of a city we violate on occasion.

Nebby has enough to worry about...potshots at other schools should be the last thing on their list. First, they need to figure out how to actually not lose a game in the final minute.

Nebraska doesn't even have the guts to put their W up against Iowa's. It's as if the Husker fans don't really *get* it.

(note: it's possible the proper name is actually New Braska, and they have up the W decades ago.)

If you go to a school like the University of Nebraska, who could possibly blame you for wanting to be Northwestern? Give them their dreams. It is better for them to think big than to face reality. Why snuff out their hopes?
