First, let me remind you all that it is often darkest before the dawn. We’re in a tough spot as a football program - but Fitz will figure it out or someone else will. It can’t get any worse than what we saw last season. Our fanbase is in hell right now so I wanted to share something different.
And I had a hell of a week - been working for two weeks straight while trying to coparent so I’m wiped. I had to go to New Orleans for a quick trip and wasn’t sure what to expect… that city is in a tough state. I can share more details about why, but anytime a homeless person smashes a window behind me first thing in the morning- and the cops don’t even bother to track her down - I’m going to have reservations. I’m not going back there for a looooong time, if ever.
Anyway, I was finally able to visit one of our most prominent alumni’s brewery: Zack Strief’s very own Port Orleans Brewery. I also got to hear from some people in the city about how much they love our former All American. It was refreshing to hear firsthand that he’s been active in the NO community since he arrived for its betterment. We’ll see if Slater or Skoronski do similar things for their new towns.
@Alaskawildkat : what service do you use to host your photos? I can get an account there and share some photos of my visit.
Long story short:

Long story short:
- The brews there are delicious with plenty of unique stouts - my favorite was the “Stacks on Stacks Blueberry Pancakes” Stout - but I only tried two
- The tacos were awesome (I got the “John Wayne” and some really tasty guacamole)
- Sadly, there was no sign that it was BigZ63’s brewery. I talked to the brewers - and there’s a good reason why - but that was the only disappointing part.
