According to a tweet earlier this week from Rivals recruiting analyst Adam Gorney (having trouble pasting it), we just offered 2019 CA Linebacker Spencer Lytle from St. John Bosco, home of NU WR Berkeley Holman.
The timing of this offer strikes me as odd as this kid was highly recruited by others throughout the summer and has been a Wisconsin commit for months. We must feel some level of confidence that the kid has an interest in us otherwise we wouldn't be wasting our time at this stage of the recruiting cycle. It's also noteworthy that Wisconsin recently offered and received commitments from two late blooming LBs for the class of 2019. Could these offers reflect concern they may lose Lytle's commitment? This one should be an interesting one to follow over the next several weeks. Lou, Since Gorney is a Rivals Analyst I am hoping would you can get the scoop on our recruitment of this kid.
