There appears to be universal approval for this hire. Kudos to NU for creating this new position in the Athletic Department. Best of luck to Maria in her role!

Guess this may be a good ting but today's Tribune wrote that NU is in the process of laying off or firing 400 employees.
Thanks. Sounds like a promotion from within which is a good thing. To expand upon the above concern about the laying off of other Northwestern employees hopefully some of the others who get to stay will see promotions as well.
Mrs. Jack’s firm, a Fortune 100, seems to go through D&I execs every year or two. It’s a tough role to fill as these leaders are often expected to have a significant influence on firm culture without having extensive resources or authority to achieve this. Hopefully NU endows Mrs Sanchez with the resources to improve NUs performance.
Perhaps the University was too quick to forego the COVID-19 aid that was previously offered.
Not sure the information shared out the "layoffs" was accurate. Seems to ne the trend in the Twitter age. Hit and run without the facts. Hijack a thread about a good thing with misinformation. Sigh.
