Nice stat from BTN

Least points we've allowed in the first three games since 1948....

And NU led the nation in scoring defense - like it does now - in 1995. There's something similar about 1948 and 1995, but I can't put my finger on it.

and considering how little time of possession we had

What do you mean? Against Duke we held the ball for 32:10. And against Stanford they held the ball for around 31:52 (or close to that). So basically dead even for the two P5 teams. We crushed EIU in time of possession -- almost doubled them up.

Other notable stat leaders
5th fewest penalty yards
3rd fewest penalty's
2nd kickoff return yardage
1st 3rd down conversion defense
5th pass efficiency defense

The kickoff return yardage is an odd own with the lack of our opponents scoring.

True - because our defense also forced a lot of three and outs. So what's the metric? # of punts? the point is, our offense has not kept the defense off the field, yesterday was like a tennis match punting back and forth
