NU usually releases its injury report on Thursday. Must be pretty grim......

Update, here it is.

That is the only surprise as I thought I saw him go back into the game.

He went back in without permission (and had gotten replaced in the lineup), and that's why we got the 12-man illegal substitution penalty. He didn't actually get a snap after the injury, but he tried to.

Too bad we're missing those other guys, but having Godwin back in there is huge. He is in the same category as Anthony Walker and Dean Lowery in terms of what has made the defense special thus far. The kid is an absolute wrecking ball, tone setter and playmaker.

I believe the most important unit of all to be as healthy as possible is the 'Cat OL. They still are banged-up, but not having 2 or 3 OL players officially listed on the injury report is good to see... Now if most can bring their "A" game to get Justin Jackson (and others) off and running with bungle-free blocking and give Clayton Thorson time to go through his progressions when pass protecting. Their major problem thus far this season for the OL is breakdowns - like 1 or 2 on most every play (see: H-1 of the Ball State game). Clean that inconsistency problem up and then the 'Cat O can operate like it should. The Golden Rodent supposedly are pretty banged-up in their own right on D and the Wildcat O has got to hit the remaining personnel hard in the grill early & often. If Thorson respects the ball like he started to do in H-2 last Saturday, I think that he's gonna have a break-out passing game. And of course, a good effective passing attack is gonna open things up substantially for JJ, Long and Vault to bust thru and gain yards. i Can't Wait!!!

FYI, your kitty cats are just as banged up as we are. Our OL didn't have any injuries last week and will build on some continuity along the line. S Travis hasn't played since TCU game and the injured TEs haven't played all year. The only starter that we will be out other than Travis is Body-Calhoun. DB is our deepest position, so I'm not to worried about our injuries.

Nice start but pales in the smack department compared to what our Iowa friends and Cal conspirators bring to the board. Come on, we need more inflammatory bulletin board material than that.
